Hockey Fundamentals

Skate Canada’s Hockey Fundamentals program focuses on developing the essential skating skills needed to become a confident and capable hockey player. Skaters work on three key areas: balance, control, and agility, building a strong foundation for success on the ice.
Through skill development, participants learn to skate forwards and backwards, maintain balance, stop and turn with control, change directions quickly, and accelerate with power. These fundamental skills help players improve their stability, speed, and overall skating ability, providing a solid foundation for continued hockey development.
